PHC: Turn $1.00 into a $200.00 donation with PHCs, as a solar distributor. Pet Hotel Credits are valid for use at Universal Canine Health Care company’s pet hotel in Arizona. PHCs can be used to house any dog from any canine kill shelters that have received pet hotel credits.

Solar can be a tough subject for consumers to make a final decision on, and to be confident of the financial benefits. This program enables solar distributors to generate up to 100% of their sales in PHC donations for their clients, making solar a true no-brainer. PHCs will roll over just like the solar Tax Credit.

  1. Identify what clients in your book of business will benefit greatly from securing additional tax deductions.

  2. Solar distributors may purchase PHCs at a rate of $200.00 to $1.00. The standard rate for consumers is 50 to 1, so pre-purchasing as a solar distributor is recommended. Proof of licensing is required to receive the 200:1 rate.

  3. Your clients donate the PHCs to UCHC for transfer to a kill shelter neighboring Arizona.

  4. A donation receipt will be emailed to you and your client.

  5. A transfer email will be sent to the kill shelter, you, and your client.

  6. Save the donation receipt for tax filing time, and you’re done.

NOTE: PHC donations do roll over, so if a client cannot benefit from the full deduction in year one, the donation will roll over to future years until the whole deduction has been used by your client.

EXAMPLE:

  1. The solar distributor purchases $100,000.00 in PHCs for $500.00, and we transfer them to a canine kill shelter.

  2. The client claims a $100,000 in-kind donation and receives a $50,000 deduction on income tax.

  3. The client receives credit for their tax rate, apportioned to the donation. A 30% tax rate, for example, will recover $15,000 in tax debt for the client, and result in a $100,000 Pet Hotel Credit donation to a kill shelter neighboring Arizona.
